It's a little different this time, and we think you will love it! We've partnered with Angie at Gnome Angel, Fat Quarter Shop and a band of bloggers for a year-long sew along that starts September 28, 2015. Angie and the bloggers will be posting about the blocks as they make them, Fat Quarter Shop will be offering fabric kits and if you don't already have the Perfect Patchwork Templates Sets used to cut the blocks, you can buy them in our online store or Fat Quarter Shop's.
All the details are on Angie's blog. Head on over there to meet Angie! And join her Facebook group to share the fun all along the way!

What template sets do you recommend purchasing for the Farmer's Wife project, or do you have a package of all the templates needed?
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking! We'll be blogging soon about the templates and how great they are for the Farmer's Wife quilt. We don't have a template package, but we have special offers from time to time. You can get notifications by joining our mailing list through our website.
DeleteI love using your templates when I can. If I haven`t got the templates needed can I get them through Grandmothers Garden New Zealand where I have brought the other templates of yours? Also will they have them in time to join SAL? Happy Stitching.
ReplyDeleteYou may already have some or all of templates for the new Farmer's Wife quilt, as many of the same size pieces and shapes are used in the new group of blocks, too. :) Blocks are grouped together based on the tools they have in common and Set A is up first. If you need anything as the SAL goes along, Grandmother's Garden is likely to have it or can get it in for you. :) Thank you for believing in our tools!
DeleteI was wondering if you have the conversion chart for your templates for `The Farmer`s Wife Sampler Quilt` book as I have this but my part on my computer that uses the disk is broken and when I read that I could use your templates instead I think that is wonderful.Happy Stitching.
ReplyDeleteHi Clare, Happy to answer "yes"! Use the "Join our newsletter list" button on our website to add your name to the list to get conversion charts for the original Farmer's Wife book. There are 10 charts, e-mailed one every two weeks and the next round of mailings starts the second week in Sept. Glad to know you have the book, as our charts are only about using FMM templates to cut the pieces. Check the January 2013 blog archive for more details about the charts.
DeleteWill you be printing conversion sheets like you did for the original FW? Love your templates and loved your retreat in Panama City in January 2015. Hope to be able to attend another one.,
ReplyDeleteHi Peggy! Yes, we're doing conversion charts for the new book, but we are not emailing them every two weeks like we did the previous PDFs. We're part of a quilt along plan and they will be posted on our website for downloading twice a week for a year. The quilt along details are on Gnome Angel's blog. The 1930s Farmer's Wife Quilt Along button here will take you to that blog post. :)
DeleteHow can I ensure that I'm signed up for all the blogs, websites, etc. so that I don't miss anything? I've clicked, signed, posted, etc., wherever, but want to make sure, yet not sign up twice and get duplicate emails for everything.
ReplyDeleteIt is a little confusing because there are 2 Farmer's Wife books and we have been sending out PDF conversion charts for the first book for about 3 years now. But we're glad you don't want to miss anything! :)
DeleteIf you are asking about the sew along that begins 9/28/15 that is about the new book -- in order to get our template conversion charts, you just have to come here to my blog. All the other details about the 1930s sew-along are on Gnome Angel's blog here -- http://gnomeangel.com/announcing-the-farmers-wife-1930s-sampler-quilt-sew-along/
If you have signed up to follow all the bloggers, including me, you are all set. :)
If you are asking about our original PDF template conversion charts for the group of blocks in the first Farmer's Wife book, the only way to get them is to be on that dedicated mailing list, which you can join through our website. That group of PDFs has nothing to do with the new book, except that they are also six-inch finished blocks, and the new sew-along is not about that group of blocks.
Also, our e-mail service automatically merges duplicate addresses, so you would receive only one email from us. :)
I should add that the PDF template conversion charts for the 1930s PDFs will be published here at 5:30 pm US Eastern time every Monday and Wednesday, at the same time Gnome Angel will be posting a corresponding tutorial.
